Meet the new Vicar…

Peter is a Sheffield lad born and bred a native of Walkley born into a Roman Catholic family.
After an encounter with Christ in the back room of his greengrocers in 1982 Peter began attending Wadsley parish church. After training with Church Army from 1992 – 1995 Peter was commissioned as a Church Army Evangelist taking up a post as Parish Evangelist at St Peter’s St Helier in Morden south London. After a further post in the parish of St Peter’s Hednesford in Staffordshire undertook further theological training at Queens in Birmingham Peter being ordained in Sheffield cathedral in 2004 returning to the diocese as at Christ Church Hackenthorpe.
Following his curacy Peter was half time team vicar in the Gleadless Team and half time Chaplain for Sport in the diocese of Sheffield. Peter went on to become full time Chaplain for Sport in the diocese a role he held until 2013 when he moved to Essex to marry his lovely wife Sharon who lived in Benfleet near Southend.
Peter and Sharon moved to Earls Colnes in north Essex in September 2013 where Peter took up the post of team vicar to the Colne churches in The Halstead Team ministry. Sheffield has reclaimed Peter once again, making Sharon an honorary Yorkshire lass as he takes up his new post for which he is now being licensed.
Sharon and Peter have six grown up children between them from their previous marriages and are very much looking forward to making Sheffield their home together, life in the Attercliffe South East Mission Partnership and being able to enjoy the city of Sheffield and its surrounding countryside for walks and running which they both enjoy
