After landslides in Ethiopia pray for the families of those who have lost ones and for all those caught up in this natural disaster as they try to rebuild homes and lives. Pray for the governments in Afghanistan and Iraq as they try to govern in these difficult countries. Continue to pray for the Ukraine and for the government there to function properly and for the Middle east and Africa where there is continued fighting and unrest. As diplomatic tensions between Mexico and the US remain high pray for both governments as disputes continue about the building of a wall between the two countries. Pray for the US and for foreign nationals living in America as incidents of racial attacks have risen after the beginning of the new presidency.

UK – Pray for the NHS, frontline services and social care as budget constraints and less funding continue to hit levels of service provided. Continue to pray for our government as they head towards a formal triggering of article 50 and the beginning of negotiations for Brexit. As the Brexit bill is made law pray that the best interests of all will prevail in this difficult situation. Pray for our local schools and for the education system in our country as the government restructures the funding system. As the government reverses it decision on national insurance  pray for the self-employed and those small businesses that make our economy prosper.

Church and Community – After the new Bishop has stood down pray for unity in our Diocese and for guidance as we move forward together in mission and outreach to communities across our region. Pray also for senior staff as they find a path of reconciliation and deal. As the heating in church is broken pray for a good solution to present itself and as quotes come in that we will be able to make the best decision around finances and for a quick installation amidst legal paperwork that needs to be completed. Pray for Stuart and Kai as they come forward for baptism and for them and their family as they move forward in their Christian journey.

Sick and Bereaved – Pray for all those known to us who are unwell at this time, particularly Ann, Linda, David, Rebecca, Tony, Cassie and Bobby, Paul, Sylvia, Jean G and Jean D. Pray for all those who have been bereaved this week, particularly the family and friends of Mike Kitchin, that they will know God’s love and tenderness at this difficult time.
