World –Continue to pray for Syria, Ukraine, Iraq, Afghanistan and various countries in Africa where there is unrest, war and famine. Pray for governments around the world as they tackle terrorism together and for solutions to be found. After more refugees have died this week off the coast of Greece please pray for all those who are so desperate they are risking their lives and those of their families in this way. Pray for the US after it has been hit by record blizzards this weekend and for many who have cut off and are without power.
UK – Pray for the dispute between junior doctors and the government regarding working conditions and pay and that sensible discussion and negotiation will take place between both sides and this dispute is quickly resolved. Pray for those living in our country who have been hit disproportionately by the governments cuts in welfare. Pray also for decision makers to think through how cuts can be more evenly shared amongst all in our society, particularly those who are better off.
Church and Community – As comment and discussion continues after the Primates meeting from the global Anglican Communion pray that all sides will eb able to come together and work through solutions to very difficult theological and social questions. Pray for our local Churches Together network as we meet together today and continued close working in the Woodhouse Christian community where we are all one church in God’s eyes and those who live in our area. Pray also for our wider links in our deanery after the archdeacon’s visit to local clergy this week regarding Diocesan plans for staffing and mission partnerships.
Sick and Bereaved – Pray for all those known to us who are unwell at this time particularly Joyce, Sylvia L, Jean G and Jean D. Pray for all those who have been bereaved this week, particularly the family and friends of Ricky Hepworth that they will know God’s love and tenderness at this difficult time.
