World – Pray for Africa and for the increasing humanitarian crisis and for aid agencies as they work in countries where there is famine and unrest. Pray for the governments in Afghanistan and Iraq as they try to govern in these difficult countries. Continue to pray for the Ukraine and for the government there to function properly and for the Middle east and Africa where there is continued fighting and unrest. After the rape of a high school girl by two central American immigrants in Maryland, pray for her and her family and as the US government uses this incident for political gain pray calm in the country. Pray for the US and for foreign nationals living in America as incidents of racial attacks have risen after the beginning of the new presidency.
UK – After the attack in London pray the families of the those who died and for the victims as they recover from their injuries. Continue to pray for the emergency services and for our intelligence services as they work to keep us safe from attacks. Pray for the NHS, frontline services and social care as budget constraints and less funding continue to hit levels of service provided. Continue to pray for our government as trigger article 50 this week and the beginning of negotiations for Brexit and pray that the best interests of all will prevail in this difficult situation. Pray for our local schools and for the education system in our country as the government restructures the funding system.
Church and Community – Pray for unity in our Diocese and for guidance as we move forward together in mission and outreach to communities across our region and as a new Bishop is sought. Pray also for senior staff as they find a path of reconciliation and deal. Pray for all those significant women who have been a guiding light in your life. As the churches in Woodhouse come together over the next few weeks for various events over the Easter period pray for preparations and for many in our community to hear the Good News of Jesus.
Sick and Bereaved – Pray for all those known to us who are unwell at this time, particularly Ann, Linda, David, Rebecca, Tony, Cassie and Bobby, Paul, Sylvia, Jean G and Jean D. Pray for all those who have been bereaved this week, particularly the family and friends of Mike Kitchin, that they will know God’s love and tenderness at this difficult time.
