World – Pray for countries which continue to experience war and unrest, particularly Syria, Israel and countries across Africa. Pray for all the people who continue to feel unsafe in the place that they call home, that God will grant them peace and happiness. Pray for the people of Congo as they continue to experience civil unrest and the horrors of ethnic cleansing, that they will be protected and continue their journey with God. Due to increasing concerns about the effects of climate change and global warming pray that we will all strive to see the beauty in God’s world and work to protect it. Pray for all those working to bring peace across Syria and that all those caught up in the fighting will feel God’s love in their hearts.
UK –Pray for the continuing work of the NHS and that there will be respect and understanding between the government and health professionals. Thank God for the gift of health services in our country and pray for doctors and nurses to be granted the gift of healing, caring and compassion. Amid continuing concerns over acid attacks across the country, pray that the emergency services will work together to prevent further injuries and treat all those affected.
Church and Community –Pray for children and teachers as they have a time of rest and recuperation and for families as they spend more time together during the summer holidays. Pray for those who go on holiday, to be safe and for relaxation and for those who are unable to go far but that they too will find times of rest and joy to be together. Pray for the development of the Mission Partnership and the continuing unity of St James.
Sick and Bereaved – Pray for all those known to us who are unwell at this time, particularly Naomi, Philip, Bobby, Jax, Paula, Savannah, Pat, Paul, Sylvia, Jean G and Jean D. Pray for all those who have been bereaved this week, particularly Brian Rowls and Michael Goldstraw, that they will know God’s love and tenderness at this difficult time.
